Kathmandu, Dec 15: Chure Bhawar National Unity Party on Tuesday appealed to the government to address the past pacts to resolve the prevailing problem which is making people's lives harder to live.
At a press conference held at the Reporters Club here in the capital city, the party complained of the government's failure to show 'diplomatic astuteness' and added the country was reeling under the continuing Madhes agitation.
Party Chairman Badri Prasad Neupane said the government's current steps will not resolve the crisis plaguing the country while terming the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) agitation in Tarai-Madhes as 'not correct'. The party further demanded implementation of the nine-point, seven-point and three-point agreements the government and the party reached in the past. It warned of paralyzing general life in Chure Bhawar area if their demands are not addressed.
The party's co-Chair Krishna Gopal Shrestha said the undeclared blockade was shattering the country and that it would not be in anyone's interest. Senior leader of the party, Chandra Prakash Khanal, demanded declaring the region from Pathalaiya to Bardibas as the Chure Bhawar Federal State and warned of harsh struggle against the government if it were not fulfilled.
