Dang, Dec 14: A school in Dang district has decided to utilise the proceeds it collected from the deusi-bhailo cultural programme in paying its teachers, unlike most of the organisations who spent such earning in organising picnics or such programmes.
The Nawajyoti Lower Secondary School at local Lalmatiya has decided to pay its eight teachers appointed under the 'private resource payment quota' from the money it collected from the deusi-bhailo, cultural singing and dancing ritual that is organised during the Tihar festival.
A cultural team of the school comprising teachers, students and members of the school management committee collected Rs 61,150 from the deusi-bhailo programme, said Maya Khanal, the school Principal.
She said 90 per cent of the proceeds would be spent in paying the salary of the so-called 'private resource-paid' teachers while the remaining on educational tour for students. RSS
