Kathmandu, Dec 13: Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Sherdhan Rai, has said that the goodness of the new constitution should be proved by providing efficient service and facilities to the people.
Addressing a discussion held between the Ministry officials and head of departments under it on the Ministry's two-year action plan here today, Minister Rai said, "People should get to experience goodness of the new constitution through its practice."
He said that the government has formulated a two-year action plan to make the people aware about the provisions of the new constitution, and also by making public service and facility easy and smooth. "The concerned bodies should implement the action plan endorsed by the Council of Ministers."
Also the Spokesperson of the government, Minister Rai directed the concerned offices to mobilize human resources to complete the task mentioned in the action plan within the schedule.
Similarly, Communications Secretary Sunil Bahadur Malla expressed commitment that the Ministry would provide necessary support to complete the task included in the action plan on time.
Joint-Secretary Kabiraj Khanal said that the action plan would be implemented after incorporating some issues left in course of formulating the action plan gradually while Under-Secretary Devi Sharma familiarized about the issues incorporated in the action plan.
On the occasion, General Manager of the Gorkapatra Corporation, Sushil Koirala, said that regional edition of Gorkhapatra could be published from Biratnagar within the end of the current fiscal year and also from Nawalparasi from the same time if the Corporation gets ownership of the land required for the same.
The action plan mentions that visual service could be initiated within a couple of years from the National News Agency (RSS) while its physical assets could be utilized in a commercial manner.
The action plan includes a plan to provide press accreditation online within three months and initiating regional broadcasting of the Nepal Television from Kohalpur.
