Kathmandu, March 9: A revolving fund of Rs 500,000 has been set up in memory of senior tourism journalist late Hariraj Joshi.
It was shared at a condolence assembly organized by Journalists Association for Tourism (JAT) Nepal at the capital city on Tuesday.
Tourism Journalist Joshi, who was suffering from kidney-related ailment for long, died on February 11 this year.
JAT-Nepal President Devi Prasad Panta shared that setting up revolving fund was originally the idea of deceased tourism journalist Joshi. Following Joshi's demise, the Fund has been set up in his name.
The Association, through the newly set up fund, will undertake new initiatives to motivate the tourism journalists, according to JAT-Nepal President Panta.
On the occasion, Nepal Mountaineering Association President Ang Tshering Sherpa, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) President Chandra Rijal, and senior tourism entrepreneur Deepak Mahat said that the demise of Joshi, who pioneered tourism journalism in the country, had caused a deep sorrow to tourism entrepreneurs.
