Kathmandu, March 13: UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Lharkyal Lama was arrested on the charge of possessing illegal weapons from the capital today.
Spokesperson at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Krishna Hari Pushkar said that Lama was arrested after a CIAA team confiscated 14 rounds of bullets from his bank locker at Durbarmarga-based Nepal Investment Bank. Currently, lawmaker Lama is under the CIAA investigation for his alleged involvement in amassing property through illegal channels.
He said that 14 bullets were seized, adding that Lama was later handed over to Durbarmarga-based police sector for further investigation into the case. RSS
