Salyan, July 27: The number of viral fever and diarrohea patients has gone up in Salyan with torrential rains in the district.
Children and elderly people have been affected the most. The district–based health institutes are witnessing an increase in the flow of patients, District Public Health Office Salyan's Chief Dr Manisha Rawal said.
Presently, some 80 to 100 patients on average visit the District Hospital Salyan in a day, seeking treatment for cough, fever, headache and diahhroea. At the usual time, this number used to just 30-40 per day.
Bearing in mind an increasing flow of patients, the 15-bed hospital has managed for additional 32 beds for the convenience of patients. Of the patients coming to the hospital, the number of viral fever and diarrhoea patients makes up some 40 per cent, Hospital's Dr Najir Khan said. He recommended for drinking of plenty of water and liquid foods to increase immunity power that helps us to prevent the possible infection of viral fever and diarrohea in the monsoon. RSS
